Task 2.2 Educational Technology Risks

I'll focus on: no evidence of improved in student achievement from low attendance rates and how it hinders socialization.

Research the benefits of educational technology and the effect that they have on our society and students.

School should be a calming and relaxing haven for the young to grow and learn.  However, not all students have the same interest in education and some of them see attending school as a punishment.  When school becomes a place of dread and stagnate grow we begin to see detached uncaring students with poor attendance and/or truancy will increase in the younger elementary years.   The relationship between student's attendance and achievement in public schools continues to show a positive correlation. This study has evaluated that the number of days students attended school improved their learning. Research has determine, lack of attendance not only affected individual students academically, but also affected the learning environment of the entire school. (
Reducing the rates of student truancy and chronic absenteeism continues to be a leading goal within school’s policies.  Hard and more firm standards are placed in school handbooks to explain where the district places maximum absenteeism.  Some students and parents will continue to abuse the tolerance level.  The school has to accept the students or parent is aware of the policy, but may continue to ignore.  The district has to consider the choice of retaining a student for another year or worse dropping them from the registration.  The tolerance is almost accepted as a normal standard in the community. Despite the long history of concern over student attendance, the issue has received relatively little attention from educational researchers.  If schools can improve the truancy of students, then education will begin to gain academically.  It is deem, the more students are between the four walls of the classroom, the better prepared they will become and achievement levels will begin to show improvement.
